Gran Turismo 5 To Hit Japan July 2008

PSP version to follow after?

Posted by Staff
Gran Turismo 5 should be out by next July in Japan, according to a recent interview with Head of Polyphonic Digital and creator of the Gran Turismo series Kazunori Yamauchi.

In the interview (apparently with magazine Best Car) Yamauchi also hinted that GT Mobile for the PSP won't be too far away, although reports are conflicted as to whether the game will come before or after its next-gen brethren.

No details were revealed as to when GT5 will hit shop shelves outside Japan, although SPOnG would not be surprised to see it in the run up to Christmas next year.

SPOnG despises a mystery, so we approached Sony for some clarification. Alas, no comment was forthcoming.

While we await further information as to when we Europeans will see GT5, we'll have to satisfy ourselves that GT5 Prologue, a shortened teaser pulled from the full game, is on the way to get our engines revved.

You can keep up to date on GT5 over on SPOnG's dedicated game page.
