Microsoft’s Japanese arm has announced that Xbox 360 Elite will be released in Japan on October 11, competitively priced at 47,800 yen ($390/£190).
Perhaps this will finally provide a much needed shot in the arm to Japanese Xbox 360 sales which, for the four weeks to June 24 were a mere 17,616 (with Nintendo shifting 270,974 Wii units and Sony 41,628 PS3s over the same month).
Unfortunately, us poor Brits are going to have to wait a little longer to find out if we are going to be able to get our hands on a 360 Elite this coming Christmas. SPOnG just spoke with Microsoft’s UK PR team, who currently have no information on the plans for releasing the 120GB hard drive-equipped 360 in Europe.
The PR rep also refused to confirm if Peter Moore would be rockin'
a new tattoo at this year's E3!
We can only hope that we will finally be put out of our abject misery on both matters next week at Microsoft's E3 conference on Tuesday evening.
