Xbox Live Arcade gets strategic on a small scale tomorrow, courtesy of
Band of Bugs.
The game hails from the studios of NinjaBee, the developer behind
Outpost Kaloki X and
Cloning Clyde. Microsoft promises something that's rare on Live Arcade: turn-based strategy. In the single player campaign gamers “Follow the adventures of young Maal as he leads an elite team of bug warriors to protect the kingdom from evil insect enemies.”
The game also features a level editor and Xbox Live Vision camera support (although quite how it works Microsoft hasn't said).
Of course, no Xbox Live title would be complete without the obligatory multiplayer modes. In
Band of Bugs gamers will be treated to 'Elimination', 'Capture', 'Escape' and 'Mission' challenges for up to four players.
Also thrown in for good measure is
Spider Hunter, a more 'chillaxed' game that allows up to eight players to come and go as they please.
SPOnG has to ask: doesn't
Team17 already have the turn-based-garden-strategy angle already covered on Xbox Live with
Worms?
Band of Bugs comes with the usual 200 Gamerscore points and 12 Achievements. It'll be available tomorrow for 800 Microsoft Points.
