80GB PlayStation 3 Available in June
Sony has announced that the first 80GB PlayStation 3 model is to be released in South Korea on June 16.

A spec sheet posted on the official Sony Computer Entertainment Korea (SCEK) website advertises the 80GB PS3 – a snip at 518,000 won ($556)

The Korean PS3 will also come without the Emotion Engine chip - the controversial chip which was also removed from European versions of the hardware.

No word, as yet, on any plans to release the 80GB model in the UK and Europe at a reduced price, but rest assured we will be digging around on this to find out more in the coming days.

Can't see a price reduction coming off the back of this move. The decision to include a 80GB HDD instead of a 60GB one is probably just because they can now get 80GBs for the same cost as they were getting 60GBs.
