EA’s FIFA 07 holds firm this week in its third week at the top of the UK All Formats Charts. The game has so far sold just under half a million units in a mere three weeks on sale.
The most pleasingly surprising thing SPOnG has discovered about the 360 version of the game is that it is immensely playable. Far better than we were expecting, with truly impressive attention to detail – watch out Konami!
In the past we have been guilty of dismissing the FIFA series as a success of marketing-over-development but this latest next-gen version on 360 is going to deservedly give Pro Evo 6 a run for its money this year.
Straight in at two this week, say hello to Vivendi’s ‘leetle friend’ Scarface: The World is Yours, which bumps Activision’s Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy down one place to number three.
SPOnG’s man in Miami (yes, we know the reference should be Havana!) is currently evaluating Scarface for us, so we will be bringing you our full, considered, review shortly (we’ve actually redecorated a corner of the office to create Miami-in-Wakfield).
Eidos’ Just Cause holds on to the number four slot, while EA’s latest golf outing, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, slips two places this week down to number five.
At number six, down one place from last week, is Square Enix's RPG Kingdom Hearts II. Nintendo’s Dr Kawashima's Brain Training continues to surprise everybody by continuing to bounce back up the charts, climbing back up to number seven.
THQ's Cars slips to number eight position; Eidos’ Championship Manager 2007 debuts at number nine; and Bizarre Creation’s bundled-with-360 Project Gotham Racing 3 holds on to the number ten spot.
