3DO Europe today announced that the age-old battle between the plastic armies of Green and Tan will finally come to life on the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation with the launch of Army Men: Sarge's Heroes.
Sarge, the hero of the Green Army, attacks across kitchen surfaces, through hallways, and into the garden, fighting for the 'Greener' way of life. For, if the Tan manages to secure the explosive skyrockets, horrific magnifying glasses, or the dreaded Rubbish Disposal, the balance between good and evil could be shifted forever.
With the use of Plastosheen™, Army Men's plastic soldiers look and shine like the real thing, yet move and fight with unreal clarity, bringing them to life, and ultimately to their death, in a wide variety of grizzly plastic-melting, decapitating and exploding 'man down' animations.
Players are given the opportunity to take Sarge and his merry band of heroes through the 'Plastic World', where Sarge is life-size, and the 'Real World', where he is only two inches tall. The game spans 14 different missions with up to five separate objectives in each and armed with Assault Rifles, Bazookas, Flame Throwers (very handy), Shotguns, M-60s Machine Guns, Sniper Rifles, Grenades, Grenade Launchers, Mines (and Mine Sweepers), Mortars and, of course, the C-4, there are plenty of resources available to get Sarge and his heroes through.

Army Men: Sarge's Heroes will also feature two-player split screen play for the PlayStation, four-player quad screen for the N64 and a family mode recommended for the young at heart (ages 6 - 96). To give the both versions that final touch of explosive-thudding authenticity the N64 Rumble Pak and PlayStation Dual Shock controller will both be supported.

Army Men:'Sarge's Heroes will be published by 3DO Europe for PlayStation on March 31st, priced £34.99.
