THQ is continuing its cost-cutting, streamlining and rebuilding process that has already seen its Q&A operation in Arizona facing closure, with news that it's Asia Pacific operation is also to close.Earlier this year the company, also returned all of its rights to Guillermo del Toro video games. It also stated that, "we are focused on where we can win in console games and emerging markets." These emerging markets would not appear to be in the Asia Pacific region.
MCV reports that:
"News has just come through that today the THQ Asia-Pacific offices in Melbourne are scheduled to be closed down.
"This is an ongoing trend in Australia now, with Sega also closing its doors and moving to a distributor model in the form of Five Star Games."
