THQ Confirms Closure of Arizona QA Facility
THQ has announced that it will be closing its Quality Assurance facility in Phoenix, Arizona. The company said in a statement that the move "was driven by industry, market and economic trends". Some 57 employees are likely to be affected in the move.

THQ has seen something of a transition period as of late, with the leave of former Core Games VP Danny Bilson and rumours of further problems - a canned MMO, an empty 2014 release calendar and potential sale to Asian firms - littering the Internet right now.

The publisher said that it aims to transition some of its 57 Arizona employees to its Montreal facility, where it will be consolidating its QA efforts. "Montreal is a prime location for industry talent, has favorable economics, and is a big part of our future game development plans," the statement added.

"The transition will occur gradually throughout the remainder of 2012 while we continue to manage QA for our 2013 release slate."

We wish the affected employees all the very best during this time.
