Respected US video game mag Game Informer's executive editor, Andrew Reiner, has been having Twitter fun with readers and other people who take an executive editor at this word. Here's how it goes with a stream that began:
"Rockstar was just in the Game Informer office. I can't tell you what they showed me, but it might have been Grand Theft Auto V."
The Internet prepared to go bonkers with excitement about a trusted source making such a claim. But this was then followed by:
"As much as I enjoy watching the Internet explode over a joke, the game I saw was Red Dead Redemption."
Ah, a joke! Why didn't people who hadn't just been visited by Rockstar get it? Anyway, just to make sure that no one believed that the inside joke derived from using privileged position wasn't taken seriously by the plebs, "Again, the game Rockstar brought by was Red Dead Redemption", was tweeted.
