Up until now all cheat carts for the PS2 only work with PS1 games. Datel are the godfathers of the cheat cartridge and although it wasn’t surprising that this device was coming out, it’s good news that it finally is and it works with PS2 games.
The Action Replay is famous for allowing the player to modify games to suit your own preferences. Extra lives, level selects, they’re all here for you choose for your favourite games. The best cheats allow you to modify the gameplay in interesting ways. A good example is Sega Rally on the Saturn, you could give the Celica the top-end speed of the Stratos.
You will be able to download new cheats from demo CDs and also manually enter the codes published in magazines. Later on in the year Datel plan to release a USB adapter to connect the Action Replay up to a PC. This will allow you to find your own codes and cheats. The Action Replay costs a mere £29.99.
