Taito Memories Volume 2: Feel the Glory!

It’s like retro gaming, only enjoyable.

Posted by Staff
As you may have discovered yourself, retro gaming can be like eating bad walnuts. You are promised the sweetest, most wonderful experience, something you have stored away in your memory bank as being sublime, only to crushed with the sour taste of rotten disappointment.

For instance, firing up your Commodore 64 to play Thalamus' Creatures, a game you remember to be better than anything you had ever encountered before, leaves you cold. And don’t even mention original Metroid on the NES.

However, often there are wonders to be found, with genuinely brilliant gameplay making the nostalgia goggles usually required for such endeavours redundant. Taito Memories Volume 2 is a fine example of this.

Slated for release in Japan as a PlayStation 2 exclusive on August 25, the full game list reads:

Arabian Magic
Akkanbeder
(Space Invaders '95: Attack of Lunar Loonies)
Balloon Bomber
Cadash
Chack'n Pop
Crazy Balloon

Mizubaku Daibouken
Puzzle Bobble 2
Qix
Raimais
Rastan Saga II
Raystorm

Space Invaders Part 2

Creatures? What's wrong with Creatures?

To this day it's still a great game with revolutionary graphics (for a C64)

Bah!
