Rumour mill grinding as Google's Youtube seeks to snap up competitor
Game streaming and community site, TwitchTV looks to have secured the dreams of its founders: rumours from the USA are stating that Google-owned Youtube is looking to buy it.
So, just how much does Google think it will cost to remove the competition, integrate it with Youtube and then get some kind of return on that investment?
Variety reports that, "sources familiar with the pact" (urgh) have placed a $1 billion price on it. Detailing it as follows:
"The deal, in an all-cash offer, is expected to be announced imminently, sources said. If completed the acquisition would be the most significant in the history of YouTube, which Google acquired in 2006 for $1.65 billion. The impending acquisition comes after longtime Google ad exec Susan Wojcicki was named CEO of YouTube earlier this year."
