Every fourteen-year old boy’s favourite TV show, MTV’s Jackass is being made into a video game, with the re-invigorated Empire Interactive picking up the publishing duties in the UK for the game, due later this year on DS, PS2 and PSP (Sep 24th, to be exact).
The game, in development at New Zealand studio Sidhe, is set to be a bunch of thirty-five (no doubt) zany mini-games featuring the likenesses of some of the show's stars, including Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera, Jason 'Wee-Man' Acuña and the rest of the self-harming bunch of freaks.
Some of the games are based on stunts from the TV show and others are based on ideas that Knoxville and crew have had but not been able to make happen in real life.
SPOnG is currently trying to make contact with the Jackass boys to set up an interview out at E3 in July, so we’ll have some good news on that soon! We’ll be selecting the lucky (poor) interviewer by drawing the straws.
Knoxville is quoted in this week’s movie trade rag Hollywood Reporter as saying "We just hope that our video game is as crappy as our movies."
