Los Angeles - 11 May 2000. Ubi Soft Entertainment presents Evil Twin - Cyprien's Chronicles, the latest action-adventure game developed by In Utero.
An eerie, nightmarish world-thrilling and chilling, weird and cruel-serves as backdrop for the adventures of Cyprien, an introspective young orphan obsessed by superheroes who suddenly finds himself catapulted into a strange new universe.
On his birthday, while his friends are preparing a party for him, Cyprien locks himself in his bedroom-and suddenly finds himself transported to a sinister and unfamiliar world. Cyprien sets off to explore this nightmare world inhabited by weird beings: the "Demis" (whose bodies are cut in two), the "People" (nomads living on an ark that drifts from shore to shore), and the "Flyers" (who live aboard a flying boat over the Sea of TSOULL'I). During the course of his journey, Cyprien learns how desperate these people are, as they describe to him the evil and mysterious force that seems to have corrupted their universe. Cyprien also runs into old friends from the orphanage, now prisoners in a strange world where they've been transformed into horrible monsters. Cyprien's task is to solve the mystery of this eerie place, understand what's happened to it, and-ultimately-vanquish its evil force and free its peoples and his "captured" friends. To succeed, he uses courage and ingenuity, and also his ability to change into Super Cyprien, a combination of 1950s-style superhero and Japanese manga.
EVIL TWIN (Cyprien's Chronicles) is a 3-D action-adventure game set in a dynamic world inspired by contemporary comic strips and old black-and-white horror films. The game's environment is made up of 8 impressively scenic islands (total of 576 Mb uncompressed graphics in the game) inhabited by some 100 characters, and combines horror and wonder, pure-action scenes (combat, exploits), exploration-adventure scenes, and dialogue.
Originally designed as an animated cartoon, this ambitious venture will appeal to players who have always wanted a game combining sophisticated strategy with original and complex backgrounds. The action is accompanied by a riveting score that alternates reassuring melodies with sinister sound effects.
