Nintendo’s stylish handheld console, the Game Boy Advance SP has achieved fantastic sales across Europe, making it the ‘must have’ gadget for European gamers. To mark this occasion Nintendo is launching two brand new colours for the Game Boy Advance SP. As of 24th October the console will be available in stores across Europe in Arctic Blue and Flame Red.
Since hitting shops all over Europe on 28th March 2003, the Game Boy Advance SP has shipped over 1 million across Europe. The console has already enjoyed worldwide success, with shipment figures in both Japan and the US reaching over 1 million, and it is now hitting record figures in Europe too. Game Boy Advance SP continues the success of the ‘Game Boy family’, which has sold over 150 million units worldwide since its introduction in 1989.
Infamous for pioneering the genre of handheld gaming, from the very first Game & Watch games of the 1980s to the hugely successful Game Boy Advance launched in 2001, Nintendo has given the console a completely new, ultra stylish design to appeal to the most style conscious consumers of handheld technology worldwide. The Game Boy Advance SP is a truly pocket-sized gadget, with a flip-top screen and integrated front screen light, plus a rechargeable lithium battery similar to those found in mobile phones, offering gamers over 10 hours of continuous illuminated game-play. There are currently over 300 Game Boy Advance games available with an additional 50 being released in 2003.
The arctic blue and flame red Game Boy Advance SP will launch across Europe on 24th October and will be priced at around 129-139 Euros.
