'Life's a Game" and nobody believes that more than Nintendo. The gaming giant is about to embark on the Cube Club tour, in advance of the European launch of Nintendo GameCube on 3rd May 2002. Providing first-ever opportunities for retailers and consumers to see for themselves, the only dedicated games console of the new era - Cube Club is THE event not to missed.
Offering an evening of gaming heaven, Cube Clubs mixes all the elements of a great night out with the chance to road-test the forthcoming homes console that boasts stunning graphics and creative game-play.
The launch of more than 20 titles for the GameCube on 3rd May demonstrates what is undoubtedly the strongest line-up a new platform has seen at launch, and with 50 GameCube units per venue for guests to sample, there will something to cater for the tastes of everyone that loves playing games
Exclusive first party launch titles Luigi's Mansion and WaveRace: Blue Storm will be heavily showcased at the event, along with an outstanding portfolio of third-party titles, with many EXCLUSIVE to GameCube such as Stars Wars Rogue Leader Rogue Squadron II from LucasArts and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle from Sega only playable to GameCube. Not only that, there will also be sneaky chances to try post-launch games such as the Super Smash Bros. Melee and NBA Courtside 2002, along with the already legendary, Miyamoto-created Pikmin, plus a whole host of outstanding third-party games.
The Cube Club's main attraction is undoubtedly the GameCube but there will be plenty of side-show activity going on besides with the unique Nintendo-twist for those fancying a break from game-play. Climb aboard the WaveRace rider for a high-powered jet-ski experience and hang on as it bounces and leaps over the waves, whilst onlookers spur you on. And don't be a square. Get yourself cubed in the Photo-Cube by sticking your head in to a giant cube whilst inside 6 digital cameras take a photo of your head from 6 different angles. The end result - your own print that you can assemble to make your own cube head.
The Nintendo GameCube will be available across Europe in two colours: purple and black. Controllers will be available in three colours, purple, black, and purple and clear.
Whilst retailers set prices, Nintendo expects the GameCube to retail across Europe at around 249 Euros. Software is expected to be priced at around 60 Euros. Nintendo will be supporting the launch of GameCube across Europe with a 100million euros integrated marketing campaign.
Attendance to the event is for over 18's and is by invitation only by Nintendo (if trade) or as a competition winner (if member of public). To find out more, or to win tickets, please log on to www.cubeclub.co.uk
