London, April 2000 – Make way for Team Buddies, an action-packed, battle game that pits players against an army of charming but fiercely competitive characters in an intensely chaotic quest for victory. Itching to destroy opponents’ bases, players make use of a team of bean-shaped team mates – with half a mind of their own and a ton of home-made military goodies to play with. Starring the cutest, bounciest bunch of buddies around, Team Buddies is developed for the PlayStation® game console by Psygnosis, and is scheduled for release in February 2000.
With stunning 3D-cartoon visuals and a mean streak a mile wide, Team Buddies doesn’t just re-write the rulebook - it pumps it full of bullets, then blows it sky-high. Crates are the key to your increasing your power and by collecting, stacking and joining them in a variety of ways, players can expand their troops, acquire awesome weapons, and provide wicked vehicles for their vindictive warriors to tear around in. But don’t forget that your opponents will be doing the very same thing, so get ready to go head-to-head in Team Buddies!
Team Buddies includes many different types of buddy characters – including karate buddies, stealth buddies, medics, cyborgs and even super buddies – each with their own talents to master. Buddies always work in teams where players have an ability to switch command from one buddy to another at will and battles are played out in third person perspective. With overhead and binocular views of the action, the shiny, happy graphics contrast wildly with the unfolding carnage.
Easy to grasp but difficult to beat, Team Buddies delivers 64 incredibly challenging levels in the regular Story Mode. Multiplayer modes add another layer of manic mayhem to this wacky action battle game: up to four teams can battle simultaneously via split screen. The game supports the Analog Controller (DUAL SHOCK) and multiplayer play via multi-tap.
Featuring 32 playgrounds spanning 8 themed areas, loads of characters, weapons, vehicles and madcap animals, the gameplay goes on and on and on! Cuter than a button, deadlier than an atom bomb, in Team Buddies you’ll soon find out who your friends are!
