LOS ANGELES – (May 11th, 2000) -- Based on the Steven Spielberg Presents cartoon series of the same name, Ubi Soft Entertainment and Light Shadow Production’s Toonsylvania brings all of the ghouls, grins and gross-outs of the animated TV series to a new action platformer. A twist on the classic horror tale Frankenstein, Igor, the not so loyal lab assistant, the mad genius Dr. Vic Frankenstein, and Phil, the lovable monster, are resurrected for the Game Boy Color in this comically creepy misadventure.
Igor has made a most macabre mistake! Phil, his boss’s beloved creation has been blown to bits in a laboratory explosion, and Dr.Vic is out of his mind with anger. The limbs must be recovered so Phil, and Igor’s job, will be intact. Searching through 5 worlds, the spider and rat filled garden, the octopus infested moat and lake, zombie packed cemetery, raven polluted castle’s roof, and ghoul infected hell, as Igor, players uncover Phil pieces while battling against twenty icky adversaries. Overcoming insects and undead of all shapes and sizes, even the devil becomes an opponent in a hotter than Hades brawl in hell.
This droll and dreary castle in Trans Fernando Valley holds another secret; within each level lurks the three components of inventions that afford Igor special abilities.
Players collecting all nine pieces in each world form a tool necessary for survival in the next world: a diving suit, propeller helmet, lamp helmet, and fire break helmet.
“Toonsylvania is an excellent addition to our growing arsenal of Game Boy Color products,” commented Yves Guillemot. “The off-kilter look of the cartoon series, and the ingenious story line translates into a hilarious and captivating title.”
