Defeat the Battle Squad’s Pro-Gamer for a chance to qualify for the Grand Final

07 June 2012 – Following the popular Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer events this Spring, the Kid Icarus: Uprising Battle Squad is set to return to the high street with four exciting Battle Squad events now confirmed at GAME stores in Manchester, London, Leicester and Glasgow. The Battle Squad events hosted in partnership with IGN, the UK’s largest games and entertainment website, offer Nintendo 3DS fans the chance to win a fabulous, luxury trip to IPL5, the IGN Pro League gaming event in Las Vegas!

Fans should come charged with competitive spirit, ready to battle it out with the Battle Squad’s Pro Gamer to be in with a chance of qualifying for the Grand Final in London. At each event the three challengers to defeat the Pro-Gamer by the largest points margin will go through to the exciting Grand Final which will see expert gamers battle it out to win a fantastic all-expenses paid trip to the IPL5 in Las Vegas.

The winner with the largest points margin at each event will also be presented with a collector’s edition full set of the highly sought after Kid Icarus: Uprising AR Cards. All qualifiers will win £10 eShop vouchers and there will also be free posters and AR Cards up for grabs for all battle winners.

The first four GAME store locations have been specially selected in response to high demand from Kid Icarus: Uprising Battle Squad fans on the Nintendo 3DS Facebook page. A further four locations will be selected based on the outcome of the Facebook Location Poll. Fans are advised to stay tuned for more information and be ready to cast their vote.

Select events will feature a guest appearance from an IPL Kid Icarus: Uprising expert who will be on hand to give challengers hints and tips on how to overcome the Pro-Gamer. Cosplay lovers should also look out for an angelic character from the game who will bring an element of mystical fun to the event.

About Kid Icarus: Uprising:
Kid Icarus: Uprising launched exclusively on Nintendo 3DS on 23rd March. The two multiplayer modes can be played against other Nintendo 3DS owners ‘Nearby’ via a local wireless connection or ‘Far Away’ via an internet connection.
