Asylum Entertainment takes on wealth of industry talent.

Asylum Entertainment announces a series of new appointments that spearhead its growth into one of London’s major games development studios.

Appointments have been made across the company and include:

Dave Wilkin
Dave joins Asylum as a Producer. His CV includes tenures at Sega and the Bitmap Brothers. He brings a wealth of experience to Asylum from his work on titles such as Sensible Soccer and Z: Steel Soldiers. Dave also brings valuable experience gained from working with the International Olympic Committee (on Sydney 2000) and UEFA (on the Champions League).

Richard Steer
Richard joins Asylum as an AI specialist. He is working on several projects and oversees the creation of generic AI libraries for use across all projects. Previously, Richard was the AI specialist at Bullfrog and has extensive expertise, having created a variety of AI models for games for the PS2. His softography includes Dungeon Keeper II and FA Premier League Football Manager.

Jake Lewis
Jake has taken a dual role as a Lead Programmer and a Technical Manager. He is currently leading several projects that are yet to be announced. His previous games include Dr Who and Play with the Teletubbies. Jake is strongly committed to producing dynamic and stimulating content for the Internet and for mobile devices.

Nick Ferguson
Nick has been appointed as a Game Designer. He has previously enjoyed a variety of roles at Rare and Creature Labs and has worked on Jet Force Gemini and Beasts, as well as developing homebrew games for Net Yaroze. He left his role as Head of Game Development at Ragdoll to apply his vast experience to developing innovative game concepts for interactive TV and mobile devices at Asylum.

Patrick Cerri
Patrick is a programmer who is currently working on an unannounced project. Patrick prides himself on being a good all-round coder, and brings a wide variety of experience, having previously written AI, voice recognition software, data compression and text-to-speech applications. Having worked extensively in the Internet industry, he is now concentrating on developing dynamic inverse kinematics systems for Asylum projects.

Bhaumik Patel
Bhaumik is a 3D artist who is enjoying creating verdant environments and accurate representations of creatures for one of Asylum’s hottest licenses. He is also responsible for managing all builds on the project.

Stuart Wheeler
Stuart joins Asylum as a designer, a similar position to the one he held recently at SCEE, where he worked on Ghosthunter and Final Resistance. He has gained vast experience in writing design documents and building environments which will be of great value on Asylum’s new licensed projects.

Matthew Wee
Matthew joins from SCEE as an artist. His work with Stuart built on the valuable knowledge gained from his tenure at Bullfrog Productions, where he worked on the development of 3D engine tools as well as developing landscapes and character art.

Ian Cottrell
Completing the triumvirate of ex-SCEE employees, Ian brings his six years of programming expertise to another of Asylum’s unannounced projects.
