LOS ANGELES – (May 11th, 2000) – From its theatrical debut in 1967, Walt Disney’s animated classic The Jungle Book has delighted families for decades. Now with Walt Disney’s The Jungle Book Mowgli’s Wild Adventure for the Game Boy Color, available in October 2000, Ubi Soft Entertainment and Disney Interactive offer an interactive version of this beloved adventure for a new generation of fans.
The game tells the story of Mowgli, an orphaned boy who has been raised in the jungle by a pack of friendly wolves. When the vicious tiger, Shere Khan, begins threatening him, it becomes clear that the child must leave the animal kingdom and find his place among a species he has never known: human beings. The game follows Mowgli on his journey through the jungle to the man-village.
As Mowgli, players interact with the characters from the movie, on a trek through five jungle environments. Encountering an entire menagerie of foes, Mowgli must learn special moves to mimic his opponents and gain survival skills. These actions allow players to advance through different tropical locations, and overcome enemies, even the terrible Shere Khan. Recreating the lush backgrounds of the Walt Disney movie masterpiece, players must fully tame the jungle in order to survive their journey to mankind.
