London May 2000 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe continues its successful partnership with renowned game developers, Namco, to bring gamers the latest instalment of the hugely popular Tekken series on PlayStation 2. Tekken Tag Tournament™ is scheduled for release in the PAL market in Autumn 2000.

Tekken Tag Tournament is lightning fast and introduces one of the most intuitive control methods in gaming – ‘one button, one limb’ and evolves from a conventional one-on-one battle, into a tag battle with two characters fighting for each team. Gamers can play against a friend or enjoy a tournament against a computer-controlled opponent team.

Chris Deering, President SCEE said “The Tekken series has long been recognised as the best fighting series ever developed - sales of nearly 12 million units world-wide prove it’s popularity. Tekken Tag Tournament is set to continue the trend on PlayStation 2”.

Namco has provided gamers with a complete conversion of the arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament and are aiming to take the title one step further.

Players will marvel at the amazing detail as each environment is brought to life through advanced graphics and incredibly detailed backgrounds, where even the grass blows in the wind! They will also be amazed as they watch their characters being spurred on to even greater heights by the assembled crowd, hungry for fighting action.

Featuring more than 20 original characters from the Tekken series and 10 additional new characters, Tekken Tag Tournament is a comprehensive compilation of the Tekken Series. Namco have ensured that the ultimate beat 'em up game is better than ever.
