At the announcement of its profitable annual results this month, Kalisto Entertainment has revealed that it is planning development of new games for Microsoft's X-Box console.
Using its "Platform K Technology", Kalisto will be able to develop games efficiently across all the new generation consoles. This technological advantage is key to allowing a fast start up in developing new games for the X-Box console.
Microsoft has always been a key partner to Kalisto and the companies have enjoyed a good relationship for many years. In 1995 Kalisto developed one of the very first games released for Windows 95 (Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing) and has since then worked closely with Microsoft on many projects. These have included game development with Direct X and Windows CE for Dreamcast and development of technologies.
Details of the games will be announced later, but for the time being it can be revealed that four games will be initially developed encompassing Action, Universe and 2 dedicated On-Line games. These first games will be based on both exciting new concepts and sequels to previously released Kalisto games.
Nicolas Gaume, Kalisto's President said; "I have always ensured Kalisto works on the cutting edge of games development and technology so it is without hesitation that we have initiated development for this exciting new console."
"It is encouraging that cutting edge games developers like Kalisto are so enthusiastic about developing for our new X-Box game console," said Kevin Bachus, director of third party relations for Microsoft Corporation. "Kalisto has the technical experience and passion to create stunning games that X-Box customers will be clamouring for."
