Ubi Soft publishes Virtual Skipper, the first sailing simulation game in 3D developed by the Duran Duboi group.
Ubi Soft will publish Virtual Skipper world-wide. The PC version of the game will be released in spring 2000.

Virtual Skipper, the first regatta simulation game in 3D, represents a tremendous step forward in the area of sailing games. Thanks to the use of a revolutionary 3D/ real time animation technique - The Mendelätechnology developed by Duran Duboi - Virtual Skipper offers an original graphical quality to the gamer. This quality has been endorsed by the America's Cup
organisation team. For the first time the famous sailing race name has
been associated to a sailing game.
In Virtual Skipper, the gamer is sailing ahead of a 26-feet yacht or a
sea-formula 1, over 65 feet long. He discovers the chills and thrills of
sea-racing. Either solo or in teams of up to 8 players, in race or training
environments, gamers measure their performances against the world's current top skippers, competing on legendary sites such as Hauraki bay in Auckland where the America's cup 2000 took place
Virtual Skipper is for everyone, from experimented sailors to beginners.
Navigation and the technical aspects of boatmanship have been simplified in order to allow gamers to concentrate on action and race strategy and to allow the full force of the sensory impact generated to be experienced to the fullest.
