New Management Team at IG

IG appoints new Managing Director, Sales & Marketing Director and Development Director

IG has appointed a new management team as it prepares for a new phase of growth. Kevin Shrapnell is now Managing Director, Neil Jones-Cubley joins the board as Sales & Marketing Director and Steve Cuss becomes Development Director. They have over twenty five years experience in the industry between them.
Matthew Stibbe, founder of IG has stepped down from a full-time position as CEO of the company. He will continue as a director and major shareholder in the company and will take a part-time consultancy role in the business.
"This difficult personal decision has been made easier for me because I know that I am passing the baton onto an exceptionally talented and strong management team and because IG is going from strength to strength," said Matthew Stibbe.
"IG will continue to concentrate on its strengths in the Strategy, Sports and Kids genres as they evolve onto the nextgen consoles," added Kevin Shrapnell. "At the same time we will look to leverage our games expertise across the broader range of opportunities converging in the wider software entertainment industry."
Based in Baron's Court, West London, IG employs 65 people and has ongoing relationships with Westwood Studios, EA Sports, Hasbro, Europress and LEGO. IG will complete 6 titles for publication in 2000 including ‘Formula 1 Manager’ for EA Sports. Previous titles include ‘Dune 2000’, Action Man ‘Raid on Island X’, ‘Lego Loco’ and ‘Pro 18 World Tour Golf’.
