Fight For Peace In Real-Time 3D
Ubi Soft and Mathématiques Appliquées
enter into a partnership for “PeaceMakers”
Ubi Soft® Entertainment and Mathématiques Appliquées S.A. (MASA) announce they have entered into a partnership to publish and distribute MASA’s first video game “PeaceMakers” (working title).
“PeaceMakers” is based on MASA’s revolutionary Artificial Intelligence technology, DirectIA® SDK (a module that manages behaviour, emotions and Artificial Intelligence; it was authorized by Sony® for PlayStation® 2). “PeaceMakers” is a realistic simulation of modern conflicts. Developed entirely in real-time 3D, this strategy game lets players act out, for the first time, the role of international intervention force. In particular, “PeaceMakers” is the first video game that incorporates the central role of the media in current and future conflicts. Players will have to pursue not only military objectives but political goals as well, and will have to keep an eye on their popularity with the media.
The game is being developed by MASA teams based in Paris, under the supervision of Ubi Soft. The worldwide release of “PeaceMakers” is scheduled for late 2000 and it will come out on DVD-ROM, PC CD-ROM and Dreamcast™.
“We’re happy about this first collaboration with Mathématiques Appliquées,” says Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubi Soft. “The technology developed by this company is very advanced and will lead to a new standard for game-play.”
“Mathématiques Appliquées is proud to be working on its first game with a publisher of Ubi Soft’s size and expertise,” emphasizes Bruno Heintz, president of the Mathématiques Appliquées group.
