SEGA is remaking Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, the classic Mega Drive game that won the hearts and minds of many kids in the 16-bit era.
Development work is being handled by SEGA Studios Australia, with help from the original director of the Mega Drive game - who now works at Disney Interactive, funnily enough. It looks like the new version will bring back that classic 2D platforming action, with a reworked 3D hub replacing the 2D castle stage.
Hopefully, Mickey can still kill things with his butt. That was the best bit about the original game. That, and apples.
The confirmation comes as the publisher released a teaser trailer last week. A new video has been released today, confirming a release on PSN. No doubt an XBLA version is in the works too.
