The Wii is still proving to be a bit of a tasty earner for Nintendo, as the company has revealed that 35,700 consumers have purchased a Wii Mini in Canada between its launch on December 7 and January 31. That's some 35,600 more than a lot of us were expecting, really.
"The Canadian market has reacted positively to the great value the system has to offer, and we are seeing this reflected in the sales numbers," said Nintendo of Canada's Communications Manager Matt Ryan to Nintendo World Report.
The stripped-down console, which comes with no Gamecube support or internet functionality of any kind, retails for $99.99 in Canada. This week, Nintendo announced a release date for the Wii Mini in the UK, with retailers pricing the system at around £80 for a March 22 launch.
