SEGA is back in the hardware business! Sort of. While the publisher hasn't got the Dreamcast 2 lined up for manufacture, it is partnering with Japanese PC retailer Enterbrain to launch a line of retro-themed netbooks.Four SEGA Note PCs will be available, each with its own interchangeable decal. One features a blue cover with the SEGA logo on it, while the other three feature three of the company's major hardware releases - the Mega Drive, Saturn and Dreamcast.
The computers also feature three special SEGA Windows themes and a compilation of 60 music tracks from SEGA's history already on the hard drive. The decals themselves can be purchased separately (for ¥8,925 - around £65!) if you fancy a quick generation change.
According to
RetroCollect, there are no plans to release these netbooks outside of Japan. And at a price range of ¥99,750 – ¥194,250 (around £700 - £1,300), they're not bargains either.
