This is a story about a survey that shouldn't ever have had to go online. The survey relates to a very direct statement: "Reasons why women are leaving the games industry".
The survey states that, "Creative Skillset having been running bi-annual creative industry censuses, they show the number of women working in games has fallen from 16% in 2000 to just 6% in 2009. There is little understanding to why this has happened, this survey looks to understand more about the reason behind it."
It continues, "As the number of women playing games increase to close to 50% we are keen to find ways to get the workforce to more represent the audience in order to keep the games industry as competitive and innovative as possible."
Take a look at the survey and pass it on to your female colleagues.
