Lara Croft fans who have been waiting patiently for Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider reboot, hold on to something. The developer has confirmed that the game has hit alpha, reassuring that the game will definitely land in 2012.
Senior producer Kyle Peschel and art director Brian Horto had a chit-chat on the studio's Crystal Habit podcast, and declared that all the content is completed for the game. The only thing left to do is to tighten up the gameplay mechanics and squash any bugs in the code.
Crystal Dynamics is aiming for a simultaneous worldwide release for Lara's rebirth, too. All things considered, it sounds like Square Enix may well be targeting an Autumn release so that Crofty can take advantage of 2012's peak gaming season.
