The Sims 3 was the biggest ever PC launch for an EA title, the company has said.

Since it started hitting shop shelves worldwide, 1.4 million copies of the game have been sold across PC/Mac. EA also boasts "7 million downloads of player created content including: Sims, houses, stories and more".

Similarly, the iPhone/iPod Touch version did well. "The Sims 3 for the iPhone and iPod touch soared to the number one Top Paid App position in the U.S. Apple App Store in just 18 hours of its launch and reached the number one Top Paid App position in 37 countries worldwide within two days of launch, making it EA Mobile's 3rd game launched at $9.99 to reach the number one Top Paid App position”, uttered Adam Sussman, VP of worldwide publishing for EA Mobile.

Pictured, you can see Aussie 'Chk-chk boom girl' (Clare Werbeloff) at the Sims 3 launch party. We're not sure how she fits in with the Sims though. Decide for yourself here.
