Electronic Arts: Risk Taker?

Posted by Staff
"We can take risks because we are pretty sure our blockbusters are going to generate good revenue that allow us some cushion. We are not living hand to mouth."

So says Jeff Brown (Veep of Communications) over at Electronic Arts following EA's recent poor financials. We can only hope this means that along with FIFA, Madden, and movie tie-ins, at least some innovation will be seen in 2009.

Not to be left out, our favourite analyst, Michael Pachter, piles in with some sage advice: "The right idea is to have your core franchises and then take measured risks."

Rather than chuck all your core franchises out and take totally unmeasured risks? We would never have guessed.
