Summary

Skylanders is back! Once again players can place their Skylanders toys into a portal and watch them come to life inside a rich RPG complete with magic, platforming and mayhem.

This time out there's a whole new twist - portal masters can use the Traptanium Portal to capture baddies, then send them back out into the fray on the side of good!

Given the central premise of bringing toys to life, characters have always been right at the heart of Skylanders, and Trap Team brings its own set of newcomers to the fray. Expect the likes of a pinata that throws up sweets, an Eastern wind master armed with boomerangs and a baby T-rex with (of course) a helicopter backpack. There are even baby versions of favourites like Trigger Happy and the dragon who started it all, Spyro, thrown into the mix.

With villains also up for grabs, there are now forty baddies who are playable. Some of them have cool abilities that are designed to work in co-op, too, so Broccoli Guy drops healing glyphs or Chill Bill can freeze enemies to the spot while another players take them out!

A small but important tweak in the game's co-op mode means that players share treasure now. That might not seem like a big deal but it transforms the mode, meaning that players aren't competing and characters of different skill levels can progress at the same pace.

Skystones, Skylanders' collectible card game, makes a welcome return after not being included in Swap Force, and the new lock puzzles have been tweaked compared to last year's.

At it's core, though, Trap Team still revolves around what made previous Skylanders games great - allowing players to interact with real-world toys on a whole new level!
