Wonderbook: Walking With Dinosaurs, as its name suggests sees Sony, the PS3 and the PlayStation Eye camera and Move Controller, teaming up with Supermassive development and the BBC natural history team for an interactive learning experience in 3D and Augmented Reality.
BBC Worldwides Walking with Dinosaurs show TV series has produced a wide range of detailed visual and digital multimedia assets to the Sony platform based on years of research. Using the Wonderbook AR system images come to life, as if the worlds and creatures are standing right there on the page in front of the player-cum-pupil, providing insights and knowledge into the planet earth as it was from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous periods.
Sony and the BBC worked with palaeontologists to verify and triple check that all our facts were fully accurate.
Users will be able interact with and study a range of pre-historic beasts from to the Stegosaurus which users will be able to virtually feed, fight, weigh, x-ray and chase in their quest to become a dino expert!
Each chapter takes you to a different time and place where you can interact with a host of different dinosaurs from the giant Argentinosaurus to the dome-headed Pachycephalosaurus. Users will be able to tilt, rotate, touch and even rub their Wonderbook and use their own voices to interact with the dinosaurs.
Wonderbook owners will be able to walk among giant herbivores such as Triceratops and Stegosaurus and come face-to-face with deadly predators including Mapusaurus and Tyrannosaurus.
They will also be able to catch up with Patchi and Juniper, stars of Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie, as well as a whole cast of new characters.
