Not only does it feature a tonne of games, but there is also a multi-player mode so you can grab your mates and have a 'sports' night in.

There's also a variety of locations and stadiums for you to compete in, even Berlin! There are two game modes, Arcade and a more realistic version. Another fun feature of Summer Athletics is that you can customise your athlete with the design tool, choose your gender and many other things. You can also take on a real challenge and play the career mode.

One of the highlights of the game is the throwing games, as the usual '100m, 200m and so on' are getting boring. The throwing games are generally a three-step process. 'Jiggle' the right stick to build power, set the angle with the left stick, then left trigger it at the crux of your power to complete the throw.

Elsewhere, the swimming in particular has an interesting control method of rotating both sticks in sync with arrows rotating on-screen .

If you like quirky sports mini-games with interesting controls then this is the game for you. << less
