In light of the recent spurt of so-called 'girl games', Ubi Soft sees fit to release Bratz, a game featuring a group of hot-headed girls as they compete in numerous Britney-esque dancing competitions.

Before you head off to the nearest virtual dance floor, you'll need to dress up as Cloe, Yasmin, Sasha, Jade or Maygan, and learn a series of dance moves and special moves to perfect your super stylin' strategies.

With regards to gameplay, Bratz is very much like almost every other game in the genre, perhaps with the exception of Gitaroo Man, in that you are given a song with a particular beat and rhythm to dance along to. Simply press the correct button at the right moment in time to execute the move. The more accurate your timing, the more fluid your dancing becomes. We've heard it all before, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it's still good fun.

The addition of the obligatory two-player option also means players can compete against each other. It's here where the longevity of Bratz's lies. Songs can quickly become repetitive, but friendly competition means there is always something to strive for.

Bratz is simply a fun, light-hearted dance-em-up aimed at young girls. << less
