Summary

Based on Konami's best-selling SNES game and incorporating a number of all-new stages, Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX is a no-holds-barred action title wherein one or two players are charged with blasting their way through alien-infested zones. Set on a shattered Earth of the future, bio-mechanical aliens rule the world and only Contra's athletic heroes can save the day as they shoot, somersault and climb their way through 2D and 3D scrolling stages.

Each level is full of alien foes, vehicles to commandeer and a wide selection of collectable weapons. These include flame-throwers, three-way-firing machine guns and homing missiles, which are discarded by destroyed aliens and last indefinitely or until the heroes lose a life. As such, Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX enjoys the same immediate and entertaining gameplay the series is famed for, with the action coming thick and fast, while huge end-of-level creatures up the difficulty stakes.

Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX also features a special two-player mode, facilitated by Nintendo's link cable. This allows players to join forces against the alien menace as they share weapons and combine firepower to take out the larger adversaries.
