Summary

Space Taxi is a revelation to anyone who has the luck to be able to play it. This game, the granddaddy of Sega’s Crazy Taxi is, as far as we can tell the first taxi-based game ever. And it is fantastic.
You play a taxi driver some time in the future. Your mode of transport is a hovering space taxi and you have to ferry the polite customers around various pads until you hear the line "Up please!” and with that you thrust up to the next level.
The physics in the C64 version are quite fantastic, an with a bit of practice you soon find yourself flying at full speed everywhere and braking at the last minute. The levels increase in complexity and difficulty as you would expect, and you soon find your learning curve is arcing in the right direction.
One thing to watch out for is the passengers – literally. It is really easy to mash them to a pulp when hovering around trying to land on their pad.
If you can get this game from anywhere then do so. It’s bloody brilliant!
