Street Fighter 4 mooted for JAMMA 2005
If you believe somewhat shakey arcade news sources, Street Fighter 4 is being prepped for debut at the upcoming JAMMA 2005 Show, with various company line-ups being mooted across the online gaming world.

Specifically, Stinger reports that Capcom is poised to show the (for now) arcade-exclusive Street Fighter 4, though the specifics offered by the UK-based game-guessers leave a lot to be desired. The report claims that the game - a completely unknown and unannounced title - will hit Sammy’s AtomisWave coin-op platform, the outdated Dreamcast-based machines which are these days charged with Pachinko routines more often than high-profile game releases.

Of course, stranger things have happened. Perhaps Stinger’s claim is lent some weight by the deal Capcom announced with Sammy some two years ago for Sammy Vs Capcom, a game exclusively revealed here on SPOnG. However, nothing to date has been seen of the game, in spite of it being officially announced. Perhaps an outing on AtomisWave is illustrative of a botched deal between the two Japanese giants, though it must be stated that the platform seems an unlikely candidate in mid-2005 for such a massive game.

A purported Sega line-up has also been offered, emerging on several news outlets over the weekend.

The complete, rumoured list reads:

House of the Dead 4 (LindBergh)
Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 (CHIHIRO)
Sega Network Golf Pro Tour Vers. 2005 (CHIHIRO)
AfterBurner (LindBergh)
Virtua Fighter 5 (LindBergh)
OutRun Coast-2-Coast( LindBergh)
Sega Rally 3 (LindBergh)

Of course, some of these games, such as House of the Dead 4, have been confirmed and already shown running housed within their deluxe cabinets, though a showing of Virtua Fighter 5 still seems something of a long shot…

We’ll be on location on September 13 in Tokyo and bring you a full update on all the goodies you can expect to see in airports and service stations as it happens. Oh, and bowling alleys too. And sometimes annoying pubs with oddly-shaped pool tables.

ahhhh, memories...

I suppose AMOA shows are pretty lame compared to JAMMA these days...

SF4, I can hardly wait. Does this mean a jump to 3D, or more lovely 2D sweetness?

I really enjoyed 3rd Strike and I think another game is long overdue. Problem is that 2D gaming sometimes alienates most people used to 3D games. Please let it be 2D, please.

Hey that pic of Guile looks cool.
