Metal Gear Solid 3 - Japanese release date confirmed

16th December to see Snake Eater and its special edition

Posted by Staff
Konami has finally awarded Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater with a fixed release date. In Japan, that’s going to be 16th December. This special day will also see the special edition snapped up by the special people willing to spend an extra flourish of cash. The limited edition includes some booklets and a 1/144 scale model of Snake himself: meaning that either the sneaky fellow is supposed to be some kind of lumbering giant or that it’s going to be a very small toy.

It’s all academic though; because this special edition isn’t planned for release outside Japan anyway. There is the chance that an alternative collector’s pack could reach our shores, much like the PAL release of Sons Of Liberty on PS2 – the special edition of which included a making-of DVD documentary, but no such announcement has been made yet. Indeed, the US and European release dates themselves have yet to be revealed by Konami; although it's looking increasingly unlikely that European gamers will be slurping on serpents until next year.

Expect an update as more official details are unearthed.

I almost got too excited when i read the new title but then realised the vanity when i read the article.

I really hate the way us europeans are treated. I love the Metal Gear series, and would love to be a proud owner of the limited edition Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. But no...aint gonna happen. Dont fancy importing it either, rather have the game in English.

sigh..............Guess if you want to be first for everything, its best if you started learining Japanese....Sob.

I'm sure if you bag an Action Replay and an import MGS3, you'd be okay with the japanese limited edition.

Also MGS series has a thing for having english in the game, so if not english dialogue you should get english subtitles. You'd best double check incase I'm wrong mind.

Consult the Spong crew, they might know.
