As the gaming press nurses its collective E3 hangover, locked in a jet-lag induced cycle of snooze, the Entertainment Software Association has fixed dates for next year’s event on May 18-20, 2005. Frankly, the anticipation is more than we can bear.

The ESA estimates attendance at this year’s conference at around 65,000 people. There were over 400 exhibitors, 183 of which were making their Los Angeles debut. Of the 5,000 or so gaming products on show, about 3,500 should be on general release before the end of the year, E3 again providing an insightful glimpse of tomorrow’s world today.

Doug Lowenstein, ESA President, was justifiably chuffed and remains confident that E3 will maintain its reputation as "the world’s premier interactive entertainment trade event" for some time to come.

Watch this space for all things E3 2005 - there’s only 366 days to go!
