It's like breakdancing while hacking. I'll show 'em my h-boy style.

But the deal is this. Microsoft is a f**king asshole company. Who are they to regulate what I can and can't watch/play/do!? I think all this connectivity is retarded. When one company controlls your PC/TV/Game console, you get:

1)Pigeonholed into their products

2)Restricted because they want to make sure your personal experience is as miserable as possible. (i.e. Why can't I rip my copied cds even if there legal copies of cds I own to my X-Box. Why does Microsoft get to make that decision for me? And does that affect their sales at all if they did allow it. NO!)

Instead, Microsoft should be more like Sony AND allow third party connectivity. (i.e. by fireware or usb, or whatever) But no, I predict if anything there will be a direct PC link with access to registered and legal files only BUILT RIGHT INTO THE DAMN CABLE! Sneaky bastards! Also I think the reason that there's talk of this, besides Microsoft owning everything through intergration, is that X-Box is NOT slated to have a hard drive. So whadda do? Link it up to the PC and it's like the hard drive never left. Sneaky. I don't really see why there taking it out. It's not gonna really prevent piration any more than leaving it in.

Also I do now believe Halo 2.5 (I mean Halo 2 with better graphics..., Halo 2.1) will be out or near launch. For one simple reason, Bungie can't crank out a sequel in less than a year. They had a hard enough time with this one. By the current time cycle, Halo 3 should hit shelves by 2009 if they start working it on it near the end of 2005 when Halo 2.5(2.1) gets released.

The difference is, when Nintendo claim to be number two, they are talking about Japan. When Microsoft say it, they are talking world-wide. Nintendo are just trying to maintain the illusion that they are still in the race.

Totally incorrect.

A little thing called handheld sales. Nintendo own that market, and counting the console market as both home and handheld Nintendo are the Number Two.

Sony and Microsoft want the same thing. Convergence and domination of new media. Sony wants convergence more and Microsoft want New Media dominance.

Mircosoft are evil. They will control your lives if you let them...

Hack's. Crack's. They're all the same to me (wink wink, nudge nudge).

Formally a "hacker" was someone who enjoys using computers and who creates and edits advanced computer code. Typically if a hacker finds a problem they will try to fix it and report it to the vendor.

A "cracker" is someone who tries to gain unautorised access to a computer system in order to exploit them.

you my friend a grabbing at straws... by saying nintendo is in third place we are discuss in terms of console sales... period. if we where discussing in terms of overal proffit from systems and sales nintendo might actully pull first considering that basically everygame they make is a million seller... and i believe it was forbes that recently listed microsoft games studios as the #2 developer in the world(after EA) right now because of a little something called halo2. this discusion was in relation specifically to console sales. not portable sales or first party development sales or silly GBA link cable sales or pokemon related merchandise sales. I love nintendo dearly but this is yet another lost fight on their part, and i really hope they can turn things around for the next generation.

i just figured since i was talking to you about hacking and your icon and name are both sort of non gender specific for movie purposes you would be the most easily replaced with a hot chick! config... for example... is obviously not a hot chick!

The Gameboy is still a console. It's just portable. I'm sure Sony will count their PSP from now on, too.

Where did all this chatter of Halo 2: Updated Edition come from? I mean, i'd heard about the possibility of the Fable datadisc, but nothing about Halo 2...

As for what is being said about the next gen: Sony and Microsoft already tried media convergence this generation. Sony are trying it again in the handheld market as we speak (i think UMD films are a bit doomed, but meh). It's common sense they'll step it up in the next gen. Heck, they'll have a service like iTunes on there, maybe one for video, and they'll make them TiVos... basically, an entertainment set-top box. Hmm...

I hereby declare Nintendo automatic winner of the next round, as the other two have become "multimedia devices" :P
