I would say that my major worry is with Nintendo, but the online strategy isn't it. The worrying thing is Nintendo's trend on trying to attract the casualites with Wii Fit etc. Generally a good concept, but Wii Fit's not a 'game' you pose as your main highlight at a gaming event.
E3 just proved that Nintendo were more interested in chasing that previously unattainable consumer band. I'm worried about how their future conferences will be - next E3 we could see Nintendo going even more 'style over substance'.
I'm worried to about the same Svend, and I agree that Nintendo should have shown off more games than the Wii Fit stuff. What they do next at TGS 07 should prove interesting. Will we see more games there?
I also know that Nintendo are very clever at leading us down a path, then jumping out and surprising us. Once Wii Fit is out, they can then get back to concentrating on games again for Wii and DS. Hopefully they'll focus a bit more on their online games now too, as I feel that service should have also got more attention at E3.
Its okay to worry about what you care and have passion for. I guess regual hardcore gamers really need a bit of reassurance from Nintendo, that they aren't forgetting them. When will gamers get this, to stop them from selling their Wii and have faith and patience.
Nintendo said that their E3-conference was aimed at the mainstream press and that seemed to have worked really well with the mainstream press even calling Sony and MS incompetent dinosaurs whoare woefully behind.
If Leipzig and TGS are also so focused on the mainstream, then we can start worrying. Offcourse, expect WiiFit to be there too. Ninty wants to warm up the Japs for this as well offcourse.
Nothing is particualrly worrisome at the moment. I don't really have much of an emotional stake in any of it so really, since nothing anytime soon threatens to send MS out of buisness and deprive me of more games for my 360, I'm not all that concerned.
MS' hardware woes might be one thing stopping them from achieving a greater market share, but as long as 360 is reasonably successful, I'm happy.
