Cowardly criminals, more like. I hope they find a way to track them down and prosecute them. Another group of kids who seem to think that just because they can do something, they should be allowed to do it.

Wish they could have found a way to only mess with Sony not the "gamers"!

Hey, you guys want to wage war with Sony over privacy and ownership rights, be my guest. But maybe you shouldn't be punishing the rest of us for exercising our own ownership rights by playing on the PSN. I'd really appreciate that. Thanks.

Okay, if you are so bad ass, track this IP address and show up on my doorstep so I can punch you in the face. What jerks you are. This punishes people more than Sony. You might be smart with computers but are total idiots when it comes to society as a whole. Good job making a statement that I hope puts you in jail. Remember, nerds rule the world, but only with viable means. Hackers are just cyber criminals.

Regardless of how this affected the consumer. I still applaud Anonymous. They are using their gift to prove a point that I appreciate.

@Timmy_2_Tones and that point would be what? that they can piss off a bunch of people who want nothing to do with their so called battle and only probably mildly annoy Sony?

Nobody, you can do anything you want to the hardware. The software though, you only bought a license to use that, and the license has some terms and conditions. And that covers the firmware, it's software, you don't own it.

Just discussing this with Tyrion this morning and the consensus appears to be solid. Hacktivism in a political context can be laudable but this attack on consumers from a self-entitled and apparently messianic minority is not only pointless, it's also diminished any idealogical capital that Anonymous may have banked.

In short, it's f**kwittery.

Cheers
