The Sega pre-E3 drip-feed has begun. Virtua Tennis 3 is due out on PS3 and Xbox 360 in Spring 2007, and here are the first PS3 screens SPOnG has just recieved from our bezzie mates at Sega.
Above all else, Virtua Tennis 3 boasts enhanced photo-realistic graphics – just look at this shot of the Barcelona Open (bottom right) to see the kind of detail we we are talking about. As you gape, slack-jawed in awe at the setting sun over the court, just consider that this is what videogames are going to be like in the very near future.
The game, we are informed by the accompanying press release, also boasts even more in-depth gameplay than its previously unparalleled forerunners, with “...advanced player animations that perfectly match the behaviour and mannerisms of individual professional players…Next Gen systems allow gamers to see the most detailed expressions on the faces of their selected players as they battle to win heated tournaments around the world.”
Matt Woodley, Creative Director of SEGA had the following to say about VT3: “Instant appeal and all the best of the VT brand is being added to an array of new gameplay features… [to provide] a must have in-depth experience - though I'd say the graphics alone are reason to buy and the quality is so sharp and clear you can even see the veins on the players necks!”
So we have better graphics, better, more in-depth gameplay, loads of newly added players, improvements to the Player Creation Mode, improvements to the game’s AI, new mini-games and more. It all leaves one question really. How can it ever get better than this?
SPOnG will be bringing you more news and pics of one of the must-have next-gen titles for early 2007 from E3 in just over two weeks time.
