Well, its another fairly slow week in the UK videogame charts according to ChartTrack this week, with some good news for Microsoft. The main news is that Tecmo’s Dead or Alive 4 for the Xbox 360 has gone straight in at number one, finally knocking EA’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted off the top spot.
EA still claim two of the top five games – with Need for Speed at two, Ubi’s King Kong slightly behind at three, EA’s Sims 2 at four, and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 5 at five, still edging ahead of EA’s inferior FIFA 06, close behind in sixth position.
It seems it’s a good week all round for Microsoft, with three other exclusive-to-360 titles in the all formats top 20. Sega's Condemned jumps up to 16, Perfect Dark Zero re-enters the top twenty at 14, and Project Gotham Racing 3 powerslides up to nine. Plus, Activision’s Call of Duty 2 climbs two spots to claim seventh, thanks to the increased sales of the Xbox 360 version.
Other than Dead or Alive 4, the only new entry is Torino 2006 from 2K Games, the official game of the 2006 Winter Olympics, in at No.30.
Next week – watch out for SPOnG’s much-loved We Love Katamari making its PS2 PAL debut.
