Midway has just this very morning kindly sent us this new batch of screens from their forthcoming SpyHunter: Nowhere to Run which is looking pretty darn good. SPOnG truly hopes it’s a return to form for the beleaguered series.
SpyHunter: Nowhere to Run adds a new gameplay feature to the franchise. In this version, your character can jump out of his monster Interceptor car and run about on foot. Hmm, SPOnG wonders where they got that groundbreaking idea from! (Rockst...*coughs into sleeve)
Your character, government super-spy Alex Decker, is modelled on action superstar Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. So, when you step out of the Interceptor, into the third-person GTA-like action, you will be able to utilise The Rock's physical prowess to take down enemies with "intense melee combat moves".
The storyline in Nowhere to Run is standard fare - the evil NOSTRA organisation returns, this time with a plan to steal the latest government technology including the world’s most sophisticated spy vehicle, the Interceptor, and it’s up to Alex Decker to stop them.
SPOnG is also looking forward to this summer’s blockbuster movie version of SpyHunter: Nowhere to Run. Although we have noticed some Internet chatter claiming that John Woo is no longer involved as the director on the project, we’ll look into it and get this matter cleared up by Midway as soon as we can.
You'll find the game in stores for PS2 this April.
