Electronic Arts Still Unable to Cope with Bond
According to historically reliable Bond fansite MI6, Electronic Arts has canned the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the upcoming Casino Royale, with the game now slated only for current-gen machines.

“Sources now suggest plans for next-gen console releases have been cancelled,” the site claims. “Versions for current generation consoles (PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube) will be developed as normal, as with Everything or Nothing and From Russia With Love. Pre-production work on the game started a few months ago, with concept artwork and some 3D models already complete, even before the latest game From Russia With Love hit the shelves.”

Although the reports surfacing cannot be verified (well we could, but we kind of promised EA to stop snooping in their business for a bit. It was part of a 'new era of working together' or something) if true they add to a consistent picture in which EA fails to tame the monster franchise.

From the highs of GoldenEye on Nintendo 64, the publishing giant received little support with its efforts to further Bond as a gaming force. And while Everything or Nothing scraped by as 'acceptable', GoldenEye - and more recently, From Russia With Love - were critically mauled by most independent reviewers.

EA is expected to make an announcement in the coming months which will detail what we can expect from its next Bond offering. Current speculation points to a third-person outing of the game of the movie, due in cinemas in November next year.

Yeah, well as long as EA have the rights you can keep on dreaming. Unless they get a company like Free Radical to do it for em. In-house, I can't see it happening.
