Nintendo has put into testing its Wi-Fi portal for Nintendo DS, meaning that you can have a sneak preview of the seminal online gaming service today.
The main site NintendoWi-Fi.com has been up and down - select region US if you succeed in getting through - though pages within the site such as this Mario Kart DS page have remained consistently accessible since the site was discovered late last night.
As you can see, Nintendo will be deploying a serious back-end on a per-game basis to its portal, with the statistics and community-driven Mario Kart DS the best example so far. We were especially intrigued with the avatar of the month which looks suspiciously like it was drawn in PictoChat.
